Welcome to Stetson Wind

Clean Power Made in Maine

Welcome to Stetson Wind, the largest operational utility-scale wind farm in New England, located in Maine’s Washington County. Stetson Wind helps establish the state as a national leader in clean energy production while providing a range of economic benefits to Washington and Penobscot counties. The project delivers clean, renewable energy to more than 23,000 New England homes.

Stetson Wind will be comprised of two wind turbine arrays: Stetson I, which became commercially operational on January 22nd, 2009; and Stetson II, an approved expansion that will add an additional 17 turbines.

The owners of Stetson Wind, First Wind, were recently recognized by the Maine State Chamber of Commerce for their vision and commitment to economic growth in Maine. Stetson Wind is one more example of First Wind’s ongoing mission to work with community members to create jobs, build local revenue and increase American energy independence.
