Currently, the majority of America’s electricity comes from burning fossil fuels—fuels with unpredictable and rising costs—and demand for electricity is increasing each year. In addition, the burning of these fuels is harmful to both our health and to our environment and contributes to greenhouse gases that result in global warming.
Clean, renewable wind energy can help meet the increasing demand for electricity in New England and all of the United States, without the burning of fossil fuels, building of power plants, or relying on foreign sources for our fuel. By harnessing the natural resource of wind, Stetson Wind would provide a local, renewable energy source to Maine and deliver a broad range of economic benefits to the local community—all while making our energy source local and helping strengthen America’s energy diversity.
